Adding an alumawood patio cover to this Rocklin Whitney Ranch yard, provided the shade that these homeowners needed in order to be able to use their yard and enjoy their pool. This low maintenance overhead also provides an interesting architectural element to the yard by framing the pool and the focal point pots.

The lines of the pool and the drought tolerant plantings create a classic Mediterranean style. Italian cypress mimic the vertical lines of the patio cover, while the rounded centered fixtures of the patio cover lighting provide a nice contrast to those same vertical lines. The citrus tree near the pool is a tradition in Mediterranean landscapes. Red pots provide a subtle focal point at the long axis of view. The green lawn provides a cool place to rest the eyes.
