Flanked by shapely urns, a new curved stairway with embedded lights creates dramatic impact when viewed from the street. An old-world statue of perfect proportion yields a delightful view from both outside and inside the house.
We integrate the new landscape with the house by using brick in the walkway landings. We keep the Japanese maple since it accents both the arched entryway and the new statue.
Curved benches accent the contemporary round shape of the landing, as well as the curve of the walkway. New Zealand flax (the grassy plant) is the perfect accent plant for hardscape embellishments.
